Verdi OFF: Music and Culture in Parma and Busseto

Verdi OFF is a vibrant, free series of events that runs alongside the prestigious Festival Verdi, transforming the cities of Parma and Busseto into a hub of music and creativity. Led by Barbara Minghetti, this initiative celebrates the genius of Giuseppe Verdi by bringing his music to the streets, squares, and parks, making it accessible to all.

230+ Events Celebrating Music, Art, and Culture

With over 230 events, Verdi OFF showcases the passion for Verdi’s music through street performances, concerts, exhibitions, and even large-scale participatory art projects. From street fairs to Verdi-inspired flash mobs, every corner of the city hums with excitement, as more than 3,000 artists collaborate with 90 associations, companies, and cultural institutions to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Beginning in 2024, Verdi OFF will include the thrilling Verdi Extreme series, which pushes the boundaries of traditional opera. Audiences can expect dynamic, unconventional performances that take opera out of the concert hall and into unexpected spaces. One of the most inspiring aspects of Verdi Off is its commitment to inclusivity, with outreach efforts that extend to prisons, where incarcerated individuals collaborate with artists to create their own Verdi-themed performances.

Turning Parma into a Stage for All

Verdi OFF transforms Parma into a cultural playground where everyone can experience the joy of opera. Whether through an impromptu performance in the streets or a collaborative project inside the city’s historical venues, Verdi Off brings Verdi’s music to life in innovative and exciting ways, drawing the entire community into the magic of opera.
